BLOG: Cyber Punk LEGO Shoot

The Brickcentral theme for March is “Pick Your Punk”, they want shots of Cyberpunk, steampunk etc.

So far this year I’ve not done a good job of joining in the BC themes but I had a little time this month, YAY!

Starting Point

I grabbed a load of minifig parts and started trying out a few combos to come up with some cyber punk characters. I settled on these two troublemakers.

Then I needed some generic law enforcement types to chase them down. These guys are pretty simple but they were intended just for the background. I wanted them to be blue so it was clear they were police. Finally a use for an over abundance of that boring Eternals guy!

Building a Scene

Next step was to put these guys in a scene. I needed a getaway vehicle. I knew I wanted to do a variation of one by the excellent Fourbrickstall. This was her hover bike:

Here is my version, with a sidecar, for the getaway pair.

I had fun building this. I grabbed a handful of parts and 2 LEGO mech sets I was prepared to dismantle and built while house sitting and built just with what I had available.

For a location I used this rooftop MOC that I had recently built. I also added some floating advertising boards but they cluttered the image too much. Some blue back lights and LED front lights alongside some atmosphere from a facial mister (An idea many of us have taken from Fourbrickstall). One shot also included a monitor with a free image used for the backdrop – not pictured here obviously.

Initially I planned just one shot (the final one below) but I liked these characters so I snapped a fee more that ended up forming a short story sequence. The first shot below ended up as my favourite
