Merry Christmas to you all! For your present I thought I would wrap up a selection of photos I took for LEGO into one post and talk a little about the process.
DISCLAIMER: Most of the Star Wars LEGO in the photos throughout this post were provided to me by LEGO through Brickcentral. And that’s sort of what the post is all about.

LEGO has a program called UGC (User Generated Content) where they will work with LEGO Photography communities like Brickcentral to get photos they can use on social media. Hopefully these photos are a bit more interesting than the usual promotional photos they create in-house. Or at least they are a bit different.
I’ve been fortunate enough to do this a few times now. Here’s an example of some UGC I shot for LEGO a little while back
Usually UGC opportunities are centred around 1 set or a wave of sets. Photos should be primarily just featuring LEGO from those sets. See the Sonic one above or these Ninjago photos.
This year I was invited to be part of a slightly different UGC opportunity. A couple of communities, including Brickcentral, were asked to provide some seasonal Star Wars shots. That meant photos themed around Summer holidays, Halloween & Christmas but with Star Wars LEGO.

LEGO Provided sets from either Kenobi, Bad Batch or Book of BobaFett to a handful of photographers from each community and we were set delivery dates for each holiday.

On the Brickcentral side the photographer’s co-ordinated to minimise duplication. Some focussed on Bad Batch, others on Kenobi for example. I was mainly focussed on Mandalorian and Kenobi.

This was a fun set of photos to take. I enjoyed setting up some winter and spooky scenes indoors. For the Summer shots I took my gear out which is not something I typically enjoy but wanted to try and capture some genuine outdoor scenery.

LEGO planned to use these photos in a postcard style. See their social media posts below, I will let you judge whether or not this was well done or not.
You will see the range of photographers involved in this activity, but for this particular one they dropped a lot of the photos.
You will see some of my photos uncropped above in this blog post and the rest below. Big thanks to Brickcentral and LEGO for involving me in this activity.
